Pollinators

We all need pollinators

Here’s some ‘food for thought’ – Somewhere between 75% and 95% of all flowering plants on the earth need help with pollination – they need pollinators to reproduce. Since pollinators provide pollination services to over 180,000 different plant species and more than 1200 crops, this means that 1 out of every 3 bites of food you eat is because of pollinators. This nearly invisible ecosystem service is a precious resource that requires attention and support.

What can you do?

Planting more flowering plants is an easy way that home gardeners can help support this ecosystem. We have put together a Pollinator Paradise display of plants that specifically attract pollinators, so if you are looking to add a few more pollinator friendly plants to your garden, you can easily pick up a few. Our display is buzzing with life, with new flowers starting to bloom each day!
