Award winning unique summer colour!
This unusual perennial is named the 2018 Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association and we are excited to be growing it! Allium Millenium is an ornamental onion that flowers mid summer. Plants form a compact, neat upright clump of glossy green leaves.
When does Allium Millenium bloom?
In late July and August a profusion of large 2” globe shaped rosy purple flower clusters appear just above the foliage. Many customers admire our spring flowering Allium varieties in our display gardens at the farm. This variety is shorter, only growing 15-20” tall and flowers in the summer, but has similar striking globe shaped flowers. Bees and butterflies adore the flowers’ sweet nectar but deer and rabbits steer clear. Find a sunny spot for this perennial beauty.
